He had some good points. He was really stating that over the long-run, we need to do a better job at educating children. He made the point that our 4th graders test at or above average in math and science. By the 12th grade, however, our students are well below average. He said that the correlation is with education in terms of competitive position of country vs. country. Don't think that makes him an ass.

Get a MS or PhD in a quantitative field. There's lots of unfilled jobs for those with such an educational background. The US has a cap on H1-B visas of 45,000, which further tightens supply.
