Poor Martha......

Victim of a political show trial reminiscent of the proceedings in Moscow circa 1935.

I guess this will teach her who to give her political contributions to!

Ken Lay, a free man, and a God-fearing Republican...... says American justice is one of the best things that money can buy. <ng>

tippet, it is a sad day for the government justice. I am aware of much bigger schemes to defraud investors in the banking industry (in the hundreds of millions if not more) and the FBI stopped the investigation under political pressure.

Those directly benefiting from the scheme are living lavishly and play the "big shots" again instead of rotting in jail.

They clobbered on Martha because she is an icon to put the fear in the little guy but the real white collar criminals are continuing their schemes unabated in a different version.

I never was a fan of Martha, but in this specific case I see the whole affair as a reflection of US justice - pounding those not politically well connected.

(Once I remember in an investigation I was familiar with they convicted the weak ling and not the mastermind - when I asked why the mastermind goes free the answer was ... guess what .... it was more difficult to get the mastermind and he had more connection and better attorney's)

In a way Martha is paying for her own stupidity and arrogance, this issue should had been settled long ago by paying a fine etc.

Most offending was the guy who represented the jurors everything about his appearance was disgusting and more so it is so sad to see that people lives are in the hands of clueless, biased jury members, exercising their own agenda in class warfare thought the courts and the power they get by being on the jury
