<<<For your information, I am not often regarded as ignorant>>>

That would be rather remarkable if true. Try going to your local library, stand in the middle of the room, and turn in a slow circle. Once you finish the full 360, ask yourself how much of what there is to know, is there that you do know. Only a fool can fail to recognize his own ignorance.

<<<I wet myself when I wrote it because, even if I have to say so myself, it is a brilliant pun on what you said.>>>

The amazing thing about those who consider them to be wits is they are often half right.

<<<Finally, Don, if there is a "party line" here I do apologize if I didn't keep to it. It was my mistaken belief that freedom of speech and expression was one of the cornerstones of a truly democratic society.>>>

You will note that this is an unmoderated forum. I set it up that way in order to allow anyone wishing to share a view on the topic the freedom to do so. As hard as you may find this to believe, the subject of freedom of speech has come up many times on this board. If your sense of humor is as wonderful as you believe it is, you certainly have to appreciate how funny it is when a person believes freedom of speech is threatened whenever someone else expresses a view different than their own. If you've ever read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, you will certainly find that your freedom to express your opinion is guaranteed. What you will not find is a requirement for anyone else to agree with you.

FYI, that happens to be the nature of discussion and debate. I didn't start this topic because I wanted to be in charge of it. I started it because I had been running across an unholy amount of evidence I found down right frightening, and there wasn't an appropriate forum on SI to exchange information and views on the subject. If you have information and views to share on the topic, feel free to do so. If over a period of time your posts prove to be a useful source of information, you may even find that most of us will over look an occasional stale Monica joke when you're half in the bag.

All IMO, of course.

You're being attacked for a funny post. You've seen that much that is posted on this thread would make for interesting fodder in the study of paranoia. Although you comment that you are often critical of Israeli policy, you quite ably point out the foolishness of thinking that Israel had anything to do with 9/11. I don't know which is more absurd that notion or the thread topic title. I've seen many "interesting" theories here, from Russia, Israel and France working together to do 9/11 to little nukes with Israeli technology, holograms perhaps courtesy of Spielberg.

It's easy to connect internet dots and find "cut and paste" precedent against one's favorite scapegoat. Often the best criticism is humor and your post was exceptional. Don't feel bad if the humor is lost in paraonia.
