did he volunteer for a combat role? I haven't come across that yet. I wondered how he got to those boats. He sure got out of there in a hurry and out of the service. I have no problem with his war record, he did serve the military and not run to Canada or protest.

I wonder what he has done with his life since he left the military. What contributions did he make to the public as a senator from Mass. Does he work hard in congress or is he absentee, around when Ted says we need you here for a vote.

His record is not one that stands out to get you excited and say that man should run for President.

This guy was in Yale and he was anti-war but volunteered for a combat role, killed people and saw people being killed but still was anti-war. Weird.

Not weird. Totally to be expected. Look at his goal. He knew as a kid he wanted to be Prez. His hero was JFK. Be an officer, get into PT boats, and get medals. It was a well though out plan. He figured he needed the war record. he was right. His antiwar record would have kept him from any consideration for national office now if he had not done the war.
