Do you also dream of buying little girls for sex slaves from the Balkans?

It's a big difference between us.

I have read what you think of me and the rest of us here on the other threads you post on, M. I don't bad mouth you here and then go over to Stockman Scott's to do some ankle biting.

But you seem to be smart and articulate. If you can keep it civil-and that includes not playing the "Internet Troll," role others have tried here-stick around.

Our dream is Copenhagen for everyman

You can buy it in every 7/11 and grocery store in America.

Do you have that round circle on your jeans pocket from sitting on a can?

free health care and more holidays for the working stiffs

Also free lunch, and an end to wasteful competition. Every year, the benevolent and wise government hands out a debit card already credited with your fair share of the GDP, and you can pick anything you want from the state-run commissary. Yes, true paradise right here on earth.

This is incoherent:

We liberals think salvation arrives as a present from the old world to reinvigorate those who invented it. The US gave Europe modern democracy and they intend to return it along with free health care and more holidays for the working stiffs.

Our dream is Copenhagen for everyman; while you sleep you toss over visions of Deadwood or Magog. It's a big difference between us.

The US did not give them democracy. They developed and undeveloped it themselves. But if you were to argue that someone gave the Europeans democracy then a better argument could be made it was gained from the British.

For the past forty years most Western European countries have been giving away their democracy to bureaucrats in Brussels and to French grande ecole types who know what's best for everyone.

"Our dream is Copenhagen." So you're a socialist. My take on that exactly parallels that of Solzhenitsin who rightly points out it contains the seeds of tyranny.

Always, eventually, the socialist wants to run others' lives, for their own good, of course, just as the religious over enthusiast wants to run others' lives, for the good of their souls, of course.

But really, deep down, we know they both really want to exalt themselves over their fellows.

I am a liberal and I'm not buying the socialist or the right wing fruitloopia.
