Balanced, moderate views that put things into context are much too boring for the wingers on either extreme, by definition. The Washington Post had a great piece on Sunday about "divided America" and the political chasm between two groups who each want to pump their own cause and bash the other guy, all for the sake of us-vs.-them rah-rah.

Your comment on another thread that there is no one to vote FOR is very insightful. I feel the same way. I don't expect to see anyone on the Texas ballot this fall who isn't a self-serving clown in one respect or another. It's a lesser of evils vote at best.

There is truth and lies on both sides of the argument as far as the Jewish lobby being powerful. But, I don't think the war was fought for Israel. They can fight their own battles and would have attacked Iraq if they thought they were an imminent threat.
