Many things happened over there that cannot be explained. What I am saying is that the war was fought in a political fashion .

Watch Apocalypse Now.......war isn't neat and orderly. In the heat of battle many things happened.

Oral, atrocities were widespread and rampant in Vietnam during the time period Kerry was referring to. It wasn't just "an episode or two." Not all units were guilty and not all soldiers participated but it happened and was accepted by many units.

That's the ugly truth. Read up on it by reading some of the books written by reporters that covered the war and some of the vets that were there and committed them.

It's a sad aspect of human nature and it's happened in most wars where there are a large number of casualties and the soldiers stay scared and angry. Did you think that American men were somehow blessed with objectivity when under the tremendous stress of hit and run attacks and booby traps from elusive enemies that they can never seem to strike back at directly?

There's no tooth fairy in war.
