You Libertarians are pathetic. The federal government is turning into the monster that you always feared, all knowing, running rough shod over the constitution, over-regulating, overpending, all under a Republican adminstration, a supposedly conservative adminstration interested in getting government off the people's backs.

I bet a lot of Libertarians will vote for Bush this fall anyway. The lesser of two evils, right? Bush has expanded the federal government's power and scope more than any liberal could ever dream of doing. We have massive new beauracracies under Bush, the biggest deficit spending ever, the PATRIOT act which nullifies a great portion of the Bill of Rights. And what are rank and file Libertarians doing about. I know that some of the Libertarian leadership isn't too happy with what's going on in DC these days, I've read Harry Browne's commentaries. Hats off to Harry Browne for telling it like it is. Pat Buchanan too, he's certainly been calling the Attack on Iraq in a fair manner, not toeing the party line.

The CNN story you linked to did not include the passenger list and hijacker names, so why are you citing that source? Also, the names of the hijackers were revealed very soon after the 9/11 incident. I not sure if it was 24 hours, but it was so soon that it does make one wonder how they could have figured that out so quickly. Also, apparently some of those named turned out to be alive in countries in the Middle East. Perhaps the final version of the PATRIOT Act passed in Oct, 2001, (I'll have to look), but the bill was introduced in it's entirety within days after 9/11. Much too short of time to come up with such a large and complicated bill to react to an unprecedented terrorist incident. No doubt, it had been prepared and was waiting for introduction.
