I have run Adaware, Spybot, Hijack this and CW Shredder......to no avail. I have deleted thousands of files to no avail.

Another program to try is PestPatrol. You could also try installing "Startup Cop" which should tell you what programs run at start up and enable you do disable them from running and block them from adding themselves back in to startup.

Do you have any peer-to-peer file sharing programs on you system, like Kazaa? They are notorious for this problem. Or have you tried a registry cleaner? There are a lot out there. I have "fix-it utilities 5" which contains a highly-rated one bundled with it but it is a retail downloadable program going at about $75.00.

Here is a search for them:

Hope you can fix it without a reformat of your hard drive.

Ted, what is the name of the virtual bouncer? Do the popups come from the internet [i.e. do you have a browser open when it happens?]. Gottfried
