dr,

re: The bigger question is why didn't Clinton get him instead of refusing several attempts to have him "handed over"?

So you are saying Bush is as bad as Clinton?

re: But "getting bin Laden" is something that will take time. It is not a "Bush failure". Hell, our military is doing everything they can to find him. They simply haven't been able to do so. Do you want to blame our military?

Three years man. During which there have been many terrorist attacks, all orchestrated by bin Laden and al Qaeda. al Qaeda is it, 90% of terrorism. They did the horror of 9/11, we should have been all over them with all our resources... NOT in Iraq. I don't blame our military, I blame the White House. They made the bad decisions.

At the time of 9/11 we had al Qaeda relatively contained, we should have gone after them with everything. We had the world's support and the worlds help. We should have crippled that organization, if it took a 1000 casualties and following them into every cave in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Now, it's too late. You are right, "The death of bin Laden, TOMORROW, would not change the war on terror one iota." They've grown, they've spread and they've evolved, we let the cancer spread and mutate. While we farted around in Iraq... the stupidity is beyond belief.

John

This is not a "leftist insult". It is just my opinion. I view liberals as the root cause of many of America's problems.

Yes, and if you go back to the Reagan era, its very easy to make the case that the GOP is the source of most of our problems.

Would it have taken so much time if we had sent 135,000 troops to Afghanistan instead of 17,000?
