If the nation thought that Clinton's lie was more serious that the bark of the right wing elements, then Clinton would have been out of the White House. But hen the right wingers blinked. They knew very well that the nation did not care about Clinton's lies since it was between his wife and Celsea. It had nothing to do with the nation. The right wingers were morons. They could have waited for him to leave office and then pushed their case. If they did so, they would have succeeded in putting Clinton behind bars. But their real motive was to get Clinton out of office. Hence it was political not anything to do with legal such as "lying to a judge."
