I think all soldiers take the same oath? The military's UCMJ governs the soldiers, not the Constitution. I don't think soldiers can file lawsuits against the military.

I know specifically of two marriages that ended because of this long deployment. There must be many more.

this is why rumsfield needs to be fired. rumsfield is the one who was spear heading the downsizing of the military right up until the Iraq invasion.

i personally wrote one of my crazy letters to President Bush last August advising him to fire rumsfield.

yeah i know the pentagon is going along with it...... after forcing a number of generals into retirement, the remainder fell in line...........
