The oil belongs to them, we can't just steal it. We should have been becoming less dependent on it all along. There's still time to do that.

The arabs' only asset is a wasting asset, no matter what we do someday we'll have to pay them $100 a barrel for it.

If Al Qaeda gets control of the gulf region we wont be talking about $6 oil which is 80% taxed, but $100 gasoline with 95% going to the terrorists.

$6 oil? Who cares. If we had $6 oil, the USA would be off fossil fuels in a minute. This isn't the 70s when we were blindsided with no alternatives. Ann Richards has said that even the TEXAS OIL PATCH would suffice for the USAs oil needs if we had a floor on prices at right about the $40.bbl level.

Guys like you are what is keeping us dependent on this freaky part of the world that is so screwed up. If the west could just wean itself off of oil, that would be the end of the middle east as we know them today. the ME nations would then have to grow up economically which would be a good thing.
