"There still is some middle ground people"

I don't think there is. The Bush administration likes to put things in terms of good versus evil, and I think that is where we are right now.

To support the republicans is to support evil, and there can be no justification for it. You are either on the side that is trying to destroy our nation, or on the side that is trying to save it.

True. Fair enough. There are mainstream voters in both major parties. But, the fact is the Republicans have been winning elections because they've been motivating people to go out and vote (that was the point I was trying to make). It just so happens that a lot of the people that they motivate to go out and vote happen to be regligous right types. They're the ones who often put the Republicans over the top after all the moderates have cast their ballots. The same might be said about Michael Moore's movie. It will motivate some of the people on the friges of the Democratic party to go out and vote, and could provide enough voters to decide the election in favor of the Dems. So, I stand by my statement.

One thing, I understand you're a mainstream conservative, etc. But, if you abhor the PATRIOT Act (as I surely do), you should think twice about voting for the people who passed it. If someone really believes in individual liberty, they'd do whatever they can to oppose the PATRIOT Act. I have a feeling that the Libertarians are going to make some gains in this election cycle as disaffected conservatives look elsewhere for poltical inspiration.
