was Nadine in a different post, and it was "typesetting arcana," not typesetting experts.

oh please

now you are parsing yourself into oblivion

why don't you try to establish what was meant

the typesetting arcana did not magically appear out of a vacuum....there were experts involved and you expressed incomprehension at how they could devote so much time to the topic.

lindy responded to your response to that

please let's drop it before everyone's eyes glaze over, the record is there, let anyone interested go back and read the links i posted if there is any question and draw their own conclusion

Yes, the real glory belongs to the bloggers, not the PfP denizens who cheered them on. If the PfPers have any glory, it's reflected.

petty statement on your part, karen

anything wrong with rooting for the "david" against the goliath?

especially when they have the truth on their side?

rather and cbs have been called out on the validity of the memos...it's their responsibility now to prove they are authentic....the ball is in their court

if they cannot prove they are real, they should go down in history as faked documents, and the chips of credibility fall where the may

I was going to let this go, but you have made several comments along this line today that are sticking in my craw.

I personally fed a few leads to the top bloggers, which they may or may not have used. But what I am proud of is that I had a circle of blogs on feed that allowed me to post; starting last Thusday morning; the entire sequence of blog events on Rathergate almost "real time" to this thread. Many others here also contributed.

Because of this, the unfolding story came alive for us in a way no news story had ever done before. We all felt we were part of it. It was a seminal moment in the development of Internet news. I am not going to let you put us down for this without a fight.

Did we get excited and congratulatory about it? Damn straight we did! The toppling of "The Evil Empire" of CBS news by the "gutty little bloggers" was a sight to behold. I doubt if we will see it's like again.

You comments along the way indicated that you were holding yourself above the fray, and not really following it the same way many of us were. That's fine. The only person who I know who reads everything here is me. Not everybody enjoys the demise of Rather to the same extent that some of us do.

But don't be so negative about it. Otherwise, you will have to change your handle from "kholt" to "wetblanket." :>)
