RE:"Certainly on the surface, Kerry wins the economy debates... but that scares me. Rove made a stragic error, with Bush continually beating the flipper drum in the first debate... he's got to be pissed. Watch for some new, inventive attack.

He's not the best for no reason."

Bush better have something good because Kerry will clean his clock on the economic debate.
First of all, it's easy to criticize Bush.

Kerry will continually hammer Bush on the deficit, the cost of the war, loss of jobs to outsourcing.

There have been jobs created in the past 3 years but a lot of them have gone to illegals. Since neither candidate wants to protect the borders neither will use this as an excuse. Might lose some votes. Never mind the borders.

Kerry "should" trounce Bush on the deficit alone. Bushes best defense would be to say that we needed to run a deficit to insure against a recession...generated by the Clinton Bubble. AND we will clean it up in the second term. Can't do that because it might be construed as raising taxes.

Bush will also point to the rise in Home prices and home ownership. The former has a lot to do with Clintons tax cut but neither will point to that.

Imagine a Democrat pointing to deficits to get elected?

At any rate. Two more "El chimpo" performances like the first debate and Bush is in big trouble. The only thing he'll have going is the fear of Kerry.

What makes you think Rove was behind the flipper mantra? I think Bush didn't know what else to say.

Watch for some new, inventive attack.

I think in this kind of situation, there is only so much that Rove can do. That's why I never understood it when someone said Bush won the 2000 debates. It had to be Gore screwing up rather than Bush being a speaking wunderkind.

Kerry a fiscal conservative?

"..."Every child in America will receive health care from day one if John is elected. Period," she said.

The Kerry health care plan also will provide catastrophic coverage for all Americans, Heinz Kerry said. Under her husband's plan, the government would pay 75 percent of all medical costs above $50,000 per incident, she said.

The Kerry plan also would provide tax subsidies to business owners to provide health insurance for their employees, she said.

In addition, her husband plans to provide every student in America with four years of college tuition in exchange for two years of community service, and to provide parents with a $4,000 tax credit for college tuition they pay, Heinz Kerry said."
