Anticipation of more G5 models in portable form factor.

High gas prices supressing discretionary spending.

I think the anticipation of G5 notebooks might be hurting sales somewhat. As you say, though, that excuse is getting a bit tired.

There were also significant supply constraints with G5 processors, which have affected PM sales. Apple did warn about those constraints in their conference call last quarter.

When you look at how drastically they revised their Q1 estimates upward, you have to think that they expect the G5s to be freely available and selling well. IPods alone won't produce those kinds of numbers.

Overall, it's a stellar report. The market seemed to like it a lot, especially when you consider that today was such a downer overall.
