As you are studying Abraham, maybe you know. What was the significance of his name change from Abram?

And also another question about Abraham. If I remember the story right he seemed to be using his wife to scam wealthy monarchs. He told them Sarah was his sister and they would take her from Abraham. When they found out that she was his wife they were afraid of Abraham's God and gave Abraham wealth and begged him to go away. These were people who were used to ahving their own way but they had a healthy respect for Jehovah and they knew Jehovah was Abraham's God. Don't you think that was pretty sly of Abraham to use the situation like that?
