Amy...religion is probably the ONE thing that causes a LOT of these problems. When people have absolute "faith" that what they think is ORDAINED by a higher power, then they aren't that easily dissuaded. Have you ever heard of a country called the U.S.A??? Well, I'll bet a good 10% of the people from THAT country wouldn't mind if all the Gays were rounded up and executed. Maybe more.

Germany was not worse off than US at that period and yet we did not have extermination camps here.... In fact, German industry was far more developed than US's.
