Did you know that Khomeini and Rafsanjani's avowed goal is the complete destruction of Israel and an elimination of U.S. presence in the Middle East?

Most ME people that have a view on Israel have the same view.

For you to understand, imagine that before the US added Pennsylvania to the Union that Egypt grabbed half of it and set up an Islamic country, and the US objected from its beginning but didn't have the power to get rid of the Egyptian backed country.

Then in a war 30 years later, the Egyptian sponsored state grabs all of what we think of as Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia and all that is to Americans, and for whatever reason the US is not powerful to get it back from the Egyptians. So there we have this Islamic sharia religion country sitting on the place where the liberty bell should sit because the Egyptians got it and we can't get rid of them.

How many Americans would have accepted the Egyptian-sponsored country by today? Zero. And while this analogy is not perfect it hopefully helps you to understand how 99% of ME people want to eliminate Israel - 99% are not Jews, and it is a Jewish state.

That's not to express my personal view about Israel, but it makes total sense for Muslims to not want a Jewish state plopped down on them in land they have occupied for > 2000 years. Don't ya think?

I always believed that the 3 great monotheistic religions were Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.

Christianity has something like 1.5-2 billion believers worldwide.

Islam has something like 1.5-2 billion believers worldwide.

Judaism is around 15-25 million.

So why do you say 3 instead of 2 great monotheistic religions?

Iran is a very real problem. Did you know that Khomeini and Rafsanjani's avowed goal is the complete destruction of Israel and an elimination of U.S. presence in the Middle East?

How the hell are they going to do that? Israel is THE regional superpower and the US is THE world superpower.

They have published this in their newspapers and state media for 25 years.

The Iranians are not the only ones.......before them was the Russians, the Chinese...........I am sure there is a very long list.

Yet the liberals in America always turn a blind eye to this. Why? It's because they don't want to face the truth.

No, because we are not stupid. We look at the facts..........we could nuke Iran into oblivion. We could shock and awe Iran in weeks. We know fearing Iran is the stuff of paranoia, not reality.

What I don't understand is why the big ole Republican bear is afraid of little mice? Your DNA seems a bit scrambled.

Iran is going to have to be dealt with militarily. They are doing everything in their power to get a nuclear bomb and the negotiations with the Europeans that has been going on for 3 years has shown ZERO progress. And unlike Iraq, Iran is the world's foremost sponsor of terrorism.

Yes, this should be fun. Russia finally collapses from its own weight, relieving the world of the threat of nuclear annihilation, only to find that America will end up destroying the world through its paranoia and alleged guidance from God. I would laugh at the irony but its too depressing.

Mindmeld,

"We can trust the Israelis with nuclear technology as we can trust ourselves."

Sorry to say, but this smacks of arrogance to me. We are the only nation ever, who has used an atomic bomb ever to kill civilians. While I definately dont trust the terrorist with them, its our arrogance that partly encourages other country to acquire these weapons.

If we should go ahead and bomb iran and destroy their nuclear plant, do it in the name of continuing world domination and protesting our self interest. But if we position it as trying to save civilization, it would be a lie.

Bum.
