The whole Rummy story is a press fabrication. They took a planted question about armor that was not true of the unit the soldier belonged to and built it up into a "fire Rummy" frenzy.

Baloney. If the press is piling on, they're piling on not to that "planted question" but rather the votes of no confidence from Republicans. The story goes nowhere without the the Republicans having gone tone deaf on the rock star.

the press are not the only ones trying to get Rummy. Look at our own republican senators, others in congress who are fighting for military contracts. the fight with these guys is more about power and money and Rummy is either in their way or their opportunity for more head talking on national tv .
