The President of the United States does represent the people of the United States. Period. To bash the President of the United States is to bash the people of the United States. Period.

Of course, people do have the right to descent in the United States. However, people who descent usually have an idea or two about why they are disagreeing and what their solution to the particular problem is.

You say "vigorous dissent".... ON EVERYTHING? From the start of the morning until you go to bed?? Every day? Nothing is EVER right? Pretty soon people who hear that begin to think the person is off a cog, as "nothing is ever right," and there is never a solution offered.

NEVER have I seen SS have a solution to the problem he presents. Only Bashing. Continually.

Well said, they like the Kim Il Sung "Divine King" style:

<Bashing Bush is not bashing the US. They are not the same thing. It is unfortunate that you do not understand that a system of government with more than one party is going to generate vigorous dissent. That is the whole point of having more than one party. People who want the opposition to leave the country, because they don't agree with the party in power, really would be more comfortable in a dictatorship- where opposition is not allowed. Ironic, isn't it? >

Just because Congress, the Senate, the Emperor, Supreme Court and 99% of the population all say the same thing, doesn't mean everyone does, or should, agree with it and that they shouldn't do what they can to oppose the whole misguided lot.
