The enterprise that owned the SI property was not purchased, only specified assets.

>>My contract was and is with Silicon Investor.

What contract? This has been covered before, but it's worth asking again: Where was it ever promised that anyone would be provided extended and new features forever at no charge? I've been a member here since 1996 and don't recall any such offer or promise.

Even if such an offer was made, it was made by a previous business entity, it would not be binding on this one. As Bob explained previously, he could have bought SI, shut down the servers, and just put a redirect to iHub, with or without any grandfathered conditions to SI members.

If you do have a contract I don't think it specifies that you will get a certain exact set of services that will never be reduced.

You might have grounds if your account was canceled with no TOU violations, or if you couldn't read or post anymore even if the account was technically not canceled, other than that I don't think you have a legal leg to stand on.

Edit - In light of Message 20970524
you might not have any leg to stand on even if you account was abruptly canceled for no reason.
