I guess my logic is that if we don't throw the book at them (ie don't send them to jail) it doesn't look like partisan politics. Now I realize "we", meaning Republicans, have no say in what the Judge decides. However, by not sending them to jail "we", meaning the Republicans, get the benefit of good PR and we don't stick society with a bill to jail them.

What I would like to see happen is to have their right to vote permanently revoked as well as issue each person the maximum 10k fine AND make them do community service, house arrest and probation for a year.

That sends a far reaching message without having to pay for the idiots to be jailed. It also costs them a handsome amount over the next 12 months AND they can never vote again.

To me thats a hefty price if it could all be enforced.
