Taikun,

I don't think your ideas hang together very well, and I've tried to explain why. I can't base conclusions on simple tabloid discussion by a non-scientific reporter featuring a one-sentence quote by a scientist talking about a different geographical location.

To consider this further I'd have to see a direct, detailed cause and effect statement by a reputable group of scientists specifically supporting the theory that the recent Sumatra quake was caused by global warming.

David, it's not surprising that Greenland's ice gap melting would cause the land underneath to shift. Of course it would. That's the isostacy I mentioned. It won't cause an earthquake in New Zealand.
