Then find the posts and ask that they be removed. It's that simple. We all have have families. If Dave meant what he said, he'll do it. Moderated threads once were a good idea. As it stands now, they mark the border lines of warring tribes that have nothing to do with each other except shout insults inside their castles where they know they never need confront those they are directed at. A positive has become a negative because of overuse. You see a post on this thread you don't like? You do what you did: You come over and challenge it. You can do that if you're not banned. You can't if you are. One of the things that brought this thread into existence and has kept it in existence are those long ban lists. If you see a post on a thread you're banned from you don't like, you can drag it here and take it apart. If the left kills those ban lists, they can kill the thread. It will no longer have a raison d'etre. But personally I think pigs will fly first. Remember back when Si and moderated threads were young? LWP and RWET gave rise to the old Boxing Ring as way to settle differences that arose behind the high walls of those two threads. Well, this and a few other threads are the new boxing rings.

I can't imagine many people go back 6 and 7 years to read the old threads. We were so silly then. I beg your pardon. I go back from time to time to read the old Beltane thread, especially the posts in late April to May 1, 1999. Anybody who missed that time should go back and revel in it. Starting at, say, picked at random, post 803 by usually sane Stephen Rogers: Message 9255369 and reading onward from there through the end of May 1st at least. Silly we may have been. But we had a lot of fun!
