So if you see a tyrant maintaining his power by killing 100,000 people, you are prepared to deplore it. To say, tsk-tsk. That is "soft power".

If the democracies had stuck to pure soft power in the 20th century, everywhere but America would most likely currently be under fascist or communist rule.

I gather you also support "soft power" protests about what is going on in Darfur right now?

Soft power? Dare i ask if the US should have used soft power against Hitler pre-WW2 or Stalin post WW2 or in Korea in 1950? I bet if you and your family were living in those circumstances, you would be singing a differnt tune entirely.
