'One interesting tidbit is that Africans are genetically the most diverse of all humans.'

Never heard that before, interesting yes ... do you mean more diverse genes within each individual, or that the continent has more diversity in the form of genetically distinct ethnic groups [more 'races', in a terminology that's probably non-PC now] .... they say that the great majority of europeans can be traced back to seven original mothers, the 'Seven Eves', and they've named them ... they can do this because there is part of each cell that is purely matrilinear, mitochondrial [sp?] DNA, and quite stable through the generations

Best evidence to date, is that we all came out of Africa, if you trace it back far enough ... maybe they'll find something earlier than that in the Rift Valley, but chances would appear good that it'll be not too far away .... and it's pretty hard to imagine multiple origins for the species, never heard anybody credible propose such a theory, the odds are too long

Natives of the Americas do 'much poorer compared to Africans'? ... oh boy, you'd want to be careful where you stated that in México -g- ... most mexicanos are mestizos, and many of the rest fairly pure indigenous ... Juárez, friend of Lincoln and arguably the greatest presidente, was a full-blooded zapotec ... i have a goodly slice of genes from these Americas myself .... and i don't think, for all our problems, that lined up against Nigeria or Sudan or any other country in Africa with the possible exception of SA, we're doing so 'much poorer'

Indians in Africa - there was a contest a few years ago to identify the 100 greatest south africans of all time, run over the radio and people mailed in to vote, i think ... Mahatma Gandhi scored fairly high on it ..... but so did Botha and Verwoerd [sp?], so they ended the effort early, and stopped publicising it, too much old tension coming up

Your german jamaican - one time i had a new canadian passport, after we lost the rights of british subjects [on the old ones 'Her Majesty requires all those to whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance, and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary', after Trudeau the new ones just say 'guy's a canuck, eh'] ... so at Heathrow there were new signs on the doors, one said Domestic or British Nationals maybe, but i had to take the one called Dogs Wogs and Heathens, where the queue was considerably longer, took about two hours to get out of the airport, and all this time people were coming and passing straight through the other door .. and i'd just been in the air forever, Auckland-LA-Van then hours later to the UK .... well ... so finally i get into a cab, the taxista has a rich cockney accent, can do the rhyming thing and all, we got laughing about that, and i tell him about the new lines and how canadians are foreigners now, he thought that a bit odd too ... good guy, we had quite a conversation .... and he's black, real black - jamaican
