RE:"Santiago Ramirez, 36, was angry with his government.
"Tell [Mexican President] Vicente Fox to pay us better wages so we don't have to cross here," he said."

It seems Vincente wants the US taxpayer to raise the standard of living for it's 90% plus poor folks while the 5% "rich" in Mexico still ignore the plight of the masses and live like kings.

There are a couple of things that the US can do immediately to stop the incentive for illegals to cross the border. Bush doesn't want to do either.

Interesting that the minutemen are having an effect. And of course the "race card" is already being played.

Also shows you that with a few thousand more border patrol, volunteers and unmanned planes with cameras that the borders can be sealed effectively.

"I would like to tell those people that we are not criminals," said 22-year-old Cruz. "We came to pick crops. Our records are clean. We are not selling drugs, we only want to work. Who will pick the crops if we don't?"

This is by no means universally true. Some of the illegals are criminals. Furthermore, many of them are coming to the US to live and send money back to their families in Mexico.
