Pope was pro life--pro everyones life including murderers as well as unborn children. Does he hate the executioner any less than the doctor who performs the abortion? I would maintain that he hated neither as people, just what they did and of course there was always room for forgiveness in this man's wonderful heart.

You gave me hope, but then, my hopes came crashing back down to earth....

He had a different view on going to war in iraq than some of us.

How can anyone understand the former and believe in the latter (no question mark intended - no response needed). I mean, what is the Pope some kind dummy?

being a pacifist is not necessarily a weakness. Mr Gandhi was one, and he influenced India's independance from the British Empire without violence.
