As you say, alcohol is a much worse drug than marijuana as far as societal concerns go.

I've never met a violent stoner but have known many people who get more violent when they are drinking. As far as violence and destruction go, marijuana is as safe as they come, though it ain't my cup of tea (tend to get paranoid on it unless I am at home).

Cocaine is a different story, I did it twice (in my youth) and it was like steroids to the nth power, both times the next day when I woke up around 4 in the afternoon the conversation was:

"I challenged who to a fight? I told who that she would be lucky to be my love slave, and a third-tier love slave at that? Oh shit, how am I going to live this down!"

Very dangerous drug.

I have to go with my convictions on this one, Ionesco. I haven't seen too much good come out of pot smoking, but then I haven't been paying attention and don't travel in those circles.
