There are many people in this society who are no better who make so much money they don't know what to do with it. When capital is so poorly distributed in a society, it only hurts that society.

Yes comrade!

I see......you think living on $50k for a family of four is fun and games. I don't believe that's the case.

Its not fun and games, but it doesn't suck either. Its normal life.

Certainly they are by almost any measure wealthier then most of the rest of the world and doing ok compared to the typical family of four over most of our history.

So what? That sounds very patronizing.

?!? Patronizing. What an odd comment.

If $50k a year is going to suck it probably sucks compared to something else - But if your not comparing it to the wealthy it doesn't really suck. The vast majority of people in the world live on less, often a lot less.

Besides, $50k is not good by US standards

It's above average income for an individual in the US.

I never said it was poverty but its not a healthy income even for one person.

Its solidly middle class for one person.

Tim

"I never said it was poverty but its not a healthy income even for one person."

It depends on the area. It's substantially above the median for this area for a single income, and is above many family incomes. $50k for a family of 4 means they can buy a house and a new car every few years. Not a fancy house or Lexus for the cars, but...
