But the SS problem is easily fixed; fix the deficit. And tax all income at the same rate.

Whooah!!!

A point of agreement.

And the latter may fix the former.

Would you prefer an income tax with no deductions, a value added tax, or a national sales tax approach?

I love the idea of eliminating the zero income tax rate.

And tax all income at the same rate. GOOD idea, John...Some of us have been saying that for a long time. Maybe the folks at low income levels under say....$25,000, could pay 1%, with increments of up to 5% at $40,000....and more increments of 8% $40-60,000....then a flat 11%-12% for EVERYONE else.....NO deductions. Just a flat tax....

Unless, of course, you mean everyone no matter their income level at a flat rate of %5 or such.....

If George Soros, Warren Buffett, Paul Allen, Bill Gates Sr, Bill Gates Jr, Barbra Striesand, Warren Beaty, all the Hollywood crowd, John Kerry, Teresa Kerry, AlGore, the entire Kennedy clan, etc etc....had to pay a flat tax on ALL income for each year, including ALL income that goes into a non-taxable trust....and paid 11-12% of their income each year....it would be a good thing.

Maybe these Democrats, all of them, would pay more attention to taxes and spending....
