Col. Jack Jacobs was on IMUS this morning. He has always been an optimist on iraq. He did a 180 with implicit criticism for rumsfeld and a general feeling that things were not getting better in iraq anymore, particularly in the sunni areas. He just about predicted a shiaa/sunni civil war because the shiaa were unwilling to give the sunnis a real fair shake. I guess some will now have to look for some dirt on him so they can explain away his new assessment of the situation from this Medal of Honor winner.

PS also according to jacobs Recruiting problem a coming disaster which will last for years. Only way to solve is some type of national service or relocate troops from europe and SK.

The National Guard is breaking down.

This article describes the problem in unusual detail.

As you read it, remember the regular army is having the same problems.
