rough, I disagree on #1. The administration has destroyed the CIA with their new Intelligence Czar. It was their goal and they done dood it. Next stop for the The Masters of Destruction: The UN.

Wake up, rough cut--

1. Negroponte is as political as you get and neocon to the core going all the way back to the 80's in central america where he turned a blind eye to death squads, illegally used the pentagon as an instrument of propaganda and in a purely Rovian gesture had lies printed about journalists who were getting to the bottom of it. AND, he was a recess appointment by Bush in the first term. So yeah, Bush wants control of the CIA.

2. Cheney still receives compensation from HAL. HAL is in Iraq actively inhibiting other contractors, even Iraqis, from gaining contracts to provide services to the pentagon- such as transporting gasoline from Kuwait for $.18/g instead of the $2 HAL charges. Ongoing investigations into the bahavior of HAL indicates overcharges may exceed $4B, including such things as 10,000 phantom meals per day. Dick Cheney is right now as we speak benefiting from this charade. Paul Bremer's job in Iraq was to carve up the country and privatize everything, as if that has ever, anywhere, improved or reduced the cost of services for anything.

NEXT?

Rough Cut, I would recommend that you read CROSSING THE RUBICON by Michael Ruppert, as close as you are going to get of:

-- an accounting for 9/11
-- sound reasoning about what all this means

I too am interested in "sound reasoning" and "accounting" but can you point to a SINGLE example of such coming from the Bush Administration....?

About ANYTHING?

Namaste!

Jim

"There is a great need for liberal thinkers who employ sound reasoning to engage in the problems of our day."

Imo the problems of our day are that our nation and many others around the world are in grip of scoundrels. Sound reasoning is unlikely to defeat these bastards, whose supporters are not part of the "reality based community."

The way to defeat them is to spit in their faces over and over again until the cretins who support them finally come to understand that the party is over for them. The courageous Iraq war veteran who nearly won a seat in Congress did this by calling George W. Bush a son of a bitch, in public and on the record.

That was a good start, but we have much further to go in the years ahead. Hopefully come 2008 our nation will be in a state of near anarchy as disgust with the Bush Cabal and with the second Bush Recession mobilizes the masses to ride the no good sobs out of town on a rail.

If not, and we continue on our current course, what the hell. The U.S. had a good 225 year run, nothing good lasts forever.
