FLA never looked this bad. A serious blow has been made to the Gulf states and its will take a long, long time for them to recover. The people are very, very scared. It is a very sad day for America. It's almost beyond comprehension. This isn't about a hurricane, this is about... I don't know, maybe drop everything you are doing and try to help. I've got a bad feeling that it much worse than we imagine... and the dangers in front of these folks, both the locals and the folks that are doing rescue work, are much worse than we know. After watching the video clips, I have not doubt that's its very bad. I don't think they know what to do with NO. Conditions are deteriorating quickly and the people are worried about tonite I am not sure how they will get nearly 100000 people out of there. They say they see people walking long the freeways with their posessions. And evacuation is a necessity.......they are saying now that the waters will not recede for at least a month. Letting stay there is a disaster waiting to happen. They were interviewing one guy who was in the French Quarter. They guy said he was thinking of trying to get to Baton Rouge. The reporter asked how he would get there with all the roads messed up. The guy didn't have a real answer. Then the reporter asked him why didn't he evacuate. He said the authorities never made it clear how dangerous it was. Huh???What did they want people to do...stand on their heads whistling Dixie?? Crazy.....and this guy's stupidity is endangering his life. If the flood waters don't get him, the looters will. The police are looking the other way when it comes to the looters and other people acting up. And now you have a whole prison out of its cells. I really wonder if its worth rebuilding NO. And yes, I've been there. Its a crazy, fun city but maybe now its time to give up on it as sad as that would be. Just imagine if NO had gotten hit like Biloxi and Gulfport did! ted
