Someday, maybe there will be an indepth book or two about this situation....How did the First Responders who were supposedly trained, and supposedly had equipment to respond to emergencies, end up not doing their job and just walking off the job...???

I can understand those who had to go to rescue their families....but I also can understand that they should have given their Chief notice, at the very least.

If the Governors of all four States that were hit by the hurricane, just up and left their posts for a couple of days, and didn't even leave a responsible replacement....What would people think? And that goes for public officials all the way down the line....
