Is there any evidence to suggest Tamiflu is of any use versus bird flu, or anything else other than staying healthy/hydrated/washing hands 50 times a day? My understanding, perhaps wrong, of Tamiflu is that it must be taken during periods of exposure risk, which means, if bird flu makes the rounds like the 1918 epidemic, at least two months of samples would be needed on at least two different occasions, so perhaps 3-4 months' supply per person. Again, only if it helps -- otherwise it's no better than aspirin.
