I don't think the legalization of drugs would change much. The Feds and the States ...cities as well would tax them so high that much the same undergraound economy would continue.

I don't care if they legalize any kind of drug, however the penalties for crimes commited under the influence should not be excused or tolerated in any manner.

Tonto, you must receive and hopefully accept my heart felt apologies for jumping to the wrong conclusion about your original post to me. You've obviously done some research about our war on drugs unlike many that I was debating with. I completely agree with your post. As I said many posts ago the pros of legalization far out weight the cons.

I've been curious just how many posters here, especially the ones that are for the drug war, have ever smoked pot once. I'll make you a bet that more have than not. I wonder how their lives would have changed if during the one time that they smoked pot they happened to get arrested for possession. Say they also live in a state like Texas, where possession is a felony and stays on their record for the rest of their lives. That would prohibit them from holding many good jobs as doctors, lawyers etc. that they might have been great at. That would also for the most part remove them from joining the military. Just that one joint..........
