Their lips may be saying "stay the course", but their lips are also saying "troop drawdowns" and "timetables". I don't think this administration has the fortitude to withstand a truly unpopular position, and prosecuting the war in Iraq is turning in to one very unpopular position. It appears the Bush administration is trying to extricate itself without actually saying it is trying to extricate itself. I've never been against flip flopping (I call that "rethinking a poor decision")- so if Bush flip flops on this I certainly won't give him any grief about it. I guess in order not to be a hypocrite he will have to give himself some, and that will be interesting to watch :-) Like that's going to happen.

I've been watching Russ Feingold for a while. He's got a lot going for him, not the least of which is anti-war cred. He's tried to reign in campaign financing with McCain.

I'm not sure he's got the charisma to win. That "cheesehead" comment he made would be used against him. Many people won't "get" the reference.

He's probably the type of President we need, but not the one we deserve or the one we'll get.
