Do you remember those articles where they figured out how much each soldier in the "coalition" cost in foreign aid, and other gifts and treats in order to get them to sign up? If it wasn't our tax money, it would have been quite amusing.

Every time I hear about the dastardly bribes by France and Russia, it's pretty hard not to just laugh at people, because the bribes we sent out (in terms of foreign aid packages and gimmes on all manner of foreign aid disputes- the ramifications of which will be felt for a very long time) were SO spectacular.

Michael,

Is that countries that actually have troops in Iraq, or countries that "signed" and have the ability to receive and share intelligence from the US.

The last time I checked is was over 50.

Either way, it's hardly "unilateral" so my point continues to stand.

And sure, I would like to see more French, German, Russian, and Chinese support, but that's THEIR problem, not mine.

They have their own political and economic agendas..

But one would think that, despite their opposition to overthrowing Saddam, they would set aside their differences and be willing to be part of the overall nation-building effort, if only to establish positive relations with the developing Iraqi government.
