Ralph Peters has been a staunch defender of the War in Iraq but also one of Rummys biggest critics. You questioned me once about the use of the term anti-american so i thought of you when i read this article this morning. The far left folks over at FADG fit the bill for this description. Shouldnt we all be rooting for the success of the iraqi quest for democracy even if not perfect? On FADG they root against Bush and thus our soldiers and the democracy evident yesterday in iraq. I hope you can read this piece with an open mind. Mike

I agree. The press has really let us down, in many ways- but then again, they only sell what people want to buy . . .

Yep, again I agree but this goes to the loss of an understanding of the part of the public role of good journalists which is to uncover the stories behind the stories. And, in the case, of political doings, to constantly dig behind whatever press releases are issued.

For whatever reasons they have let the Bush administration get away with murder on this point.

I've been reading the back and forths on Dan Froomkin of the Washington Post. It's clear that his editor, someone by the name of Harris, has simply given up the ethical obligations of good journalism in favor of some notion that it's all about "balance" and making money.
