chinu. Your post...such as it is..."While the chimp is taking sides on the cartoon issue and thereby endangering the lives of US military folks in Iraq, the French President is behaving more responsibly and world statesman like with this remark of his:

Mr. Chirac, at his weekly meeting with government ministers, called the move a provocation, saying, "Freedom of expression must be exercised in a spirit of responsibility," according to a government spokesman. "I condemn all manifest provocation that might dangerously fan passions," Mr. Chirac said.
".....

Bush said basically the same thing.
...At the same time, Bush admonished the press that its freedom comes with 'the responsibility to be thoughtful about others.'

You like chriac a lot?...is he more in line with your agenda?

And did you see where chirac is sucking up to the USA now....gees wonder if he is concerned about France's radical moslum problem and may need NATO help in the future because of France's BAD mistake in immigration policies?

Ok, as the other response to your post here well shows, you've misrepresented what Bush had to say, as he did say about the same thing as Chirac. This fact is in total contradiction to the premise of your post.

However, while not fanning the flames is laudable in its place, by god it is completely ridiculous to cow tow to murderous idiots who can't take a joke, and who thereby prove the point of the jokes they decry. Therefore, I'd prefer it if Bush had taken a more cowboy-like stance than Chirac. He should have pointedly spoken to the fact that the violent reaction to the cartoons underscores what he's been saying about radical Islam all along. Somebody needs to keep leading the way in telling these folks how silly, ironically murderous, and unacceptably wrong they indeed are.

Bush-Cheney like violence and unrest. It serves their purposes. In fact, they even like terrorism.

The angrier they get on the Arab street, the more Bushies can point to that and say "See, those Arabs are dangerous and want to kill us, so you need us to protect you, including illegally spying on any American we want. Just don't ask us who and why." Or if there is a terrorist attack, they can say "See, democrats have been appeasing terrorism. They're on the side of terrorists".

Of course it'a all total BS. In reality, Bush-Cheney have fanned the flames of terrorism. Ever since Tora Bora they have made the world less safe from terrorism, not more safe.
