Since my computer is under my desk the color, shape or bulk doesn't really matter.

I haven't used a desktop under monitor for many many years.

Do you think people buy a Lexus for it's looks or value?

Shape is important. Look at the iMac. It's really nice to have a whole computer imbedded in what is essentially just a fat monitor (shapewise, I mean), without a zillion wires running back and forth between monitor and computer and mouse, etc.. It really makes a difference if you're limited for space.
