I cannot believe how closed minded many people are which is why I generally stay out of politics talk.

If someone doesn't agree with me they call me childish which is prolly one of the nicer things they are calling me. IMO name calling is childish BWDIK? If you want to make an argument against my opinion do it in an adult fashion and give me facts. I am open minded and I consider all opinions.

The current system is broken we all know that but I should just live with the status quo? People die waiting for healthcare, and some of our best young healthcare professionals seek employment in jurisdictions where the compensation is more lucrative. This is a downward spiral.

I think a combination of private and public healthcare insurance is likely a good solution and I think we are headed this way slowly. Since we are socialists I think we should continue to provide the most basic coverage under public healthcare for those that cannot afford better coverage.

As far as I know there are technologies that we do not have available for us here in Ontario due to cost or whatever reason. I am not an expert in healthcare but I do read the news but I am not in a position to provide examples. I'd like the option to have all the latest technology at my disposal and I'd like it available immediately if I need it. If it means the difference between dieing and paying more for extra coverage well I prefer not to die, call me childish but man I want to live ok <g>

Regarding CPP I do not think its that easy to opt out of paying into CPP. Lets hope we get a return for our "investment" when it comes time. I might be a little younger than some of you so please leave some for me since I have been paying the CPP tax for about 20 years now. Apparently they now say its properly funded. We can hope but I surely do not rely on it. They'll prolly raise the age when you can start collecting by the time I get there I know this has been suggested <g>

Same with EI. The coverage we get for the premiums we pay is mediocre at best. I wonder how much or what % of the premiums go toward administering the plan. It would prolly make me angry if I found out.

Count your blessings my son, look around the world and see what others have<g>think back on all the occasions you can remember of friends and family being involved with our health care system...were there possitive outcomes ...or all negative??What is the ratio??CPP because of latest adjustments will be there for you...not like 84 private pensions that are in serious deficit.
