Contrary to Ralph Nader’s credo that there was no real difference between the major parties, it is close to inconceivable that the country and the world would not be in far better shape had Gore been allowed to assume the office that a plurality of voters wished him to have.

Oh, talk to the red meat Republican millionaires here in Silicon Valley, and you'll still get an earful about how much worse it would be if Gore had been elected.

I'll never forgive Nader for being such a conceited fool and not throwing his support to the better candidate after he'd made his point, but that's one of the risks we take with a democracy. Look at how Le Pen knocked a legitimate Socialist candidate (Lionel Jospin) out in le premier tour of the last French presidential election.... it's not just here that the mathematical impossibility of a perfect social choice function causes trouble.

Anyone see DIMMING OF THE SUN on NPR the other night ?
A Nova presentation.

Anyone who doubts that global warming is just a fantasy should make it a point to see the scientific data this documentary offers to prove differently. A real eye opener..
