>One thing I dislike about Yahoo! stock message boards is that people can play games by posting under various screen names. I am sorry to now learn that SI is letting people flip screen names.

There is a huge difference here. Yahoo allows users to use multiple screen names simultaneously with each account, and to register multiple accounts, and each one of those screen name instances has a distinct posting history unrelated to its brethren. SI limits users to a single account, allows changes of the alias once each 12 months, and the posting history follows the changes in alias.

Most users here are able to easily figure out who recently renamed posters are if it is that important to them.

Agreed

I have people "peoplemarked" who I don't even know who they are now.

Some of us just visit from time to time, but don't spend every waking hour on SI. How are we suppose to keep up with name changes?
