Re: even if it boost sales?

I doubt there would be much of a short term benefit from HT 3.0 alone. AMD is already offering Opterons on Socket-940 and 939. Soon they will be adding 1207 and AM2. HT 3.0 would be yet another set of 1207 Opterons and possibly AM2 Opterons, dual and quad-core versions, along with new chipsets and motherboards. FB-DIMM will then require yet another set of dual and quad-core Opterons, and new chipsets and motherboards. The more products the more confusion and the more difficult it will be for AMD to anticipate the necessary volumes required for each CPU type.

I sold all of my AMD shares. I just don't like Intel prices. I think this quarter will be horrible for Intel not much upside for AMD, and I think my money is better on the sidelines for now.

Things may change, but I will be looking to re-enter my position probably in summer.

Same roadmap says DDR3 is scheduled for 2008. If that doesn't slip out, it probably makes FBDIMM unlikely.
