"Who are you hurting in the end? Not the rich, I can tell you that. Only those who are trying to be rich. Class mobility is killed, guaranteeing that the masses will become dependent on government."

Boy! You have drunk DEEP of the kool-aide! You've made yourself into a wanna-be buttboy for the rich on taxes! I have no idea where you got your ideas on taxation, but they are VERY wrong. As is the current tax structure.

I suggest you read some of Warren Buffet's thoughts on our taxation of the rich. He thinks the rich get away with MURDER here, and have the tax system in their pocket - and he should know, as one of the richest people here. He's willing to pay a LOT more in taxes. His comment is "If there's a class war here in America, MY class is winning!"

You need to read this book, then get back to me:

Currently, you seem know to little to even discuss taxes.

Ted, It would provide us with needed income for the gov't.

Government always needs income. Raise the taxes, government will spend the money and come up with new programs. Then continue raising the taxes on the "rich," even though you know they'll continue being rich.

Well, I hate to break it to you but your hair keeps growing even though you cut it month after month.

Why is the fact that they will still be rich not a reason to raise the taxes on the rich?

Don't you see the disconnect here? Who are you hurting in the end? Not the rich, I can tell you that. Only those who are trying to be rich. Class mobility is killed, guaranteeing that the masses will become dependent on government.

Nonsense.......you just said up above the rich will still be rich after they pay higher taxes. We are talking roughly the top ten to twenty percent of the population.....and those few people who are migrating up should be able to afford the higher taxes, and if they can't, they will have to remain upper middle class. Trust me, there are worse fates.
