TP, You will lose more freedom to a powerful individual than to an elected government. Only a fool would think that a weak government means nobody is filling that power vaccum.

So it's either-or? No alternatives like the power of individuals and grass roots?

You will lose more power to an organization that is allowed to imprison you, execute you, draft you, tax away your wealth, sieze your property for its own ends, etc. than to an individual that doesn't have the power of government, or to corporations that can not require you to buy their goods.

Only a fool would think that a weak government means nobody is filling that power vaccum.

A government that doesn't do a lot, does not mean a weak government. If the government is to weak to enforce the peace than yes someone or something might step in to the vacuum. But government can be limited without being stupid or weak.
